touchtable h2 initiative hamburg
it all comes down to hydrogen
The interactive touch table shows what the Green Hydrogen Region Hamburg Metropolitan Region is all about. The table made its debut as the visual centerpiece of the Hamburg trade fair stand at the Hannover Messe 2022.
It showcases all the latest developments in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region as a green hydrogen hub of the future.
The focus is on the European Lighthouse projects, from production, electrolysis, and industrial use to developing a network infrastructure and hydrogen imports for sustainable mobility in ships, aircraft, or commercial vehicles.
The touch screen, which we designed and implemented, is continuously updated and used at various events.

The touch application is based on the Eyefactive system and can be used as a touch table or as a wall-mounted screen with or without objects.
There are two ways to communicate:
The map shows the entire northern German H2 ecosystem at three different zoom levels. We're zeroing in on the Lighthouse projects. You can filter the map using the objects or a menu, depending on which areas you're looking at. Just click on the hotspot to get more details. You can also see the Hamburg gas network, the existing hydrogen network, and the new hydrogen network based on H2.
We've highlighted all the key topics, from key strategies and the North German H5 initiative to networks and MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding). You can access these via the interactive 'pucks' that move across the map.
"The north is going to set the bar for climate-friendly industrial transformation with wind power and hydrogen. Hydrogen tech is a big part of the climate protection picture when it comes to different types of transport. The first steps have already been taken with the North German and National Hydrogen Strategy. What we need now is a quick ramp-up in the market and scaling up in the applications."
Michael Westhagemann, former Senator of the Department of Economics and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
